California State Society DAR
State Regent's Genealogical Bible Records Project

Rincon del Diablo, Daughters of the American Revolution, is proud to announce its participation in the California State Society State Regent’s Genealogical Bible Records Project. Non DAR members are invited to participate in this project.  Our state has been hard hit by fires over the past few years; many residents have lost their most valued personal records. This project will give those who have pre-World War II Bibles that contain family records an opportunity to have those records photocopied, indexed, and submitted to the National Society’s genealogy library in Washington, DC. This program is free of charge.

To participate in this program, there are some prerequisites about the Bible.  Your Bible must be:

  • owned by you or someone who has the authority to share this content (release form to be completed)
  • pre-World War II era
  • contain family record pages

One of our chapter members will meet with you to photocopy or take digital images of the Bible pages, including the title page or copyright page.  If photos of the original owner are available we would welcome including them as well.

Help us keep memories and family histories alive by participating in our Bible Records Project.  For information, please email our Registrar, Phyllis Young, at rincondeldiablodar@gmail.com.
